For those of us lucky enough to have ever attended a Good Guys Rod & Custom show, it can be difficult to imagine just how much time, energy, and money were sunk into these projects. So youre a rich car collector who just dropped half-a-million bucks (or more) on a custom carand you won that trophy youve been pining over for decades.

So now what? Obviously, you have to try and sell the money pit of a custom car and at least try to recoup to hundreds of thousands of dollars that went into it. We came across a for sale advertisement for a gold-plated, twin-supercharged custom Camaro from the mid-1980s for the bargain price of just $55,000.

According to the ad on Mautofied, this car was built by Ed Haney of Lilburn, Georgia, back in the mid-1980s with one purpose in mind; to win the ISCA circuit of car shows. And in 1986, this 1970 Camaro called Endless Dream did just thatat a cost of over $300,000, including $37,000 in gold plating. To put that in perspective, the MSRP of a 1986 Ford Mustang GT was only $11,000. Today, this car would have cost well over a million dollars to build.
